ADMINISTRATIVE OPERATIONS MANAGER / ZUFELT CONSTRUCTION SERVICES | 2023-PRESENT
Create and optimize organizational and HR processes & policies to support a multi-million-dollar construction general contracting operation. Increase efficiencies and "always improve" financial and general company health. Design and write marketing materials and optimize Google traffic. Perform all bookkeeping, payroll, financial reporting, and tax duties. Procure appropriate and affordable insurance, create contracts, and document, document, document.

NOTE: This is a part-time role I’ve been engaged in while working through several personal real estate development projects.

Converted accounting practices from Excel to QuickBooks in a division based, highly detailed system that provides important financial reporting and analysis.
Created and maintain company HR policies and employee handbook.
Smoothed out on-boarding of employees to be an easy step based process.
Decreased insurance costs by multiple thousands, while keeping the same level of coverage.
Increased Google site listing views by several hundreds percent through optimized website and listing details.
Improved contracts through both research and processes to make the easier to create, understand, and implement.
General bring the level of office chaos to a dull roar through a high level of organization and focus on details.

GENERAL MANAGER / JEFFERSON COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION | 2022
Successfully managed major events such as The County Fair (10k attendees), Magic of Christmas (5k attendees), as well as all ancillary events throughout the year for the Fair Association, a non-profit organization. Created a successful and forward thinking strategy supported by County Commissioners and the public at large. Grew volunteer base 10-fold and provided a welcoming, happy environment to do service. Made a strong foothold in the community into converting the Fairgrounds into the County’s “third place.” Was responsible for many aspects of administration, public relations, maintenance, and business development. This position’s responsibilities covered a vast range of duties, from high-level strategic planning and partnership building to moving trash cans and driving tractors. Left for better family / work balance.

Awarded $47k in public grants.
Awarded $35k in private grants.
Ushered deal with Jefferson Healthcare for a $500k capital improvement project to Fairgrounds.
Negotiated with PT Cottage School Co-op to bring youth enrichment classes to the Fairgrounds regularly.
Partnered with GatheringPlace, a local non-profit that offers people with developmental disabilities a place to work, to provide a temporary location, saving them from going dark.
Increased volunteer engagement with over 125 new to the Fairgrounds individuals volunteering for over 1800 cumulative hours in just 7 months.
Managed a successful County Fair, with the highest State Fair Commissioner score in at least the last 3 fairs.
Conceptualized and co-produced a brand new festival called “Port Townsend’s Magic of Christmas,” a free 7-day event for the community with over 2000 attendees (Dec. 2022) and raised $14k in just 2 months to support the event.
Regularly met with community leaders to create connections. Examples include; County Commissioners and County Administrator, Department Heads or Executive Directors from The Benji Project, Owl 360, WSU Extension, Jefferson County YMCA, Habitat for Humanity, Jefferson Community Foundation, Fort Worden Hospitality, Northwind Arts, PT Film Festival, PT Little League, and PT Kiwanis.
Gave countless hours to neighbors who needed to know that the Association is on top of the homeless situation.
Founded the Friends of the Jefferson County Fair & Fairgrounds, a new volunteer group with regular meetings and work parties including over 30 people.
Increased venue rental revenue from 2019 (whole year) from $24,514 to $36,643 (2022 year to date).
Offered programming previously not offered in an effort to support youth and families in Jefferson County.
Regular coverage in local newspapers from provided press-releases.
Facebook Highlights: 968% increase in page reach, 371% increase in page visits, 650 new likes

GENERAL MANAGER / KEY CITY PUBLIC THEATRE | 2017-2022
Created programs to improve the patron experience and business operations of The Theatre, a non-profit arts organization. Designed and executed successful marketing and development campaigns. Managed & cultivated core administrative volunteer staff. Introduced and nurtured operational technology initiatives with staff. Performed grant fund management and all bookkeeping and payroll duties in QuickBooks. Created KCPT Youth, an internal theater education school to address needs of kids during the pandemic, which saw the program grow from 3 classes per year to 16. Worked hand-in-hand with Executive Director to strategize, write, implement, and process large fundraising campaigns, grants, sponsorships and donor base.

Worked with Executive Director to increase annual giving by over 20%.
Quickly created campaign at start of Covid that raised 45k in 3 months - all online.
Grew the education department from 2 classes per year to over 40 through communications and program development in partnership with Education Coordinator and Artistic Director.
Re-branded The Theatre visually and through messaging to reflect the professional and high-quality nature of programming and offerings.
Brought business expenses and utilities down to only what is necessary, saving thousands each year.
Researched, implemented, and managed database of patrons, donors and volunteers.
Assisted with project management of $400k capital project during Covid closure that remodeled the entire venue. Personally managed aspects of the project including sourcing and build-out representing roughly $85k in funds.
Took outdated business system for financial management, IT and sales and converted them into systems that could be taught to anyone.
Acted as public first point of contact, helping to create a welcoming and kind atmosphere.

Managed operations of a 7 team member branding & marketing agency serving hundreds of clients. Played an active role with client search engine optimization, marketing strategy, social media management, web & print graphic design and web development. 2017 Mainstreet Collaborator of the Year. This was both an operations manager and active participant in all aspects of client needs.

Completed curriculum design & implementation for a full-time schedule of college classes teaching graphic design and Adobe software.

All facets of design & development support for a design firm that supported companies like Microsoft, Dell, & T-Mobile as well as a highly successful company owned SAAS software called Outreach Websites. Video/web/print and PowerPoint design, turning some of the hardest to understand concepts created by financial consultants to Microsoft into beautiful, easily understood presentations.

SENIOR WEB / GRAPHIC DESIGNER / WATSON FURNITURE | 2000 - 2004
An amazing out-of-college job for a European inspired contract office furniture designer/manufacturer. Access to high-level projects that taught me so much about business, marketing, design and how to treat people as the organization grew from five million to twenty-million yearly sales. In this role the foundations of project management, vendor relations, and working with people were cemented. Supported a sales force of over 300 across 4 divisions. Web/print/environmental design for everything a 20-million dollar company might need.
